Quinta da Regaleira, Sintra

Regaleira's Palace / Palácio da Regaleira
Today I invite you to experience one of my beloved places of Sintra. A palace and gardens where mystery and controversy emerge around the corner.
A place with unique history and architecture, which celebrate the history and myths of Portugal, our religious traditions which can be pre-Christian (pagan) or spiritual and initiatory traditions concerning fraternities that arose from the Renaissance (Rosicrucian and Freemasonry).
We accepted the invitation of the Casa do Fauno for an educational and relaxed trip and thanks to Dr. José Manuel Anes, our enthralling tour guide, we experienced the most completed and superb tour ever.

What's so special about the place?
Quinta da Regaleira unifies various religious and spiritual traditions, thanks to the combination of several religious and spiritual symbols, be it numbers, journeys, saints etc.
For example the gardens. Like the cosmos, there is heaven and hell, and hell is represented by the downhill to the initiation well and the course through the elements (tunnel and lake) that give exit to the "light of day", for the Light. And yes the visitor does pass through there! A clear reference to the descent into hell of Dante's Divine Comedy, but also a typical and universal architectural reference to the Death and Resurrection initiation present in various religious and spiritual traditions.

O que há de tão especial na Quinta da Regaleira?
A Quinta unifica as diversas tradições religiosas e espirituais graças à combinação de vários símbolos religiosos e espirituais, quer sejam números, viagens, santos etc

Such a special place! Magical, mysterious and so beautiful. Sintra, for me, is irretrievably linked to the Quinta da Regaleira. The thought and effort put in the place, not just because it "would look good" but due mainly to it's meaning and importance, does it for me. Loved the afternoon and recommend it to everyone! But then again I love Sintra as I've shown here, here and here.
If you're interested visit the website of the Casa do Fauno here it's constantly updated with new invitations and events including the one I went to, although  available only in Portuguese. And don't forget to visit the official website of Quinta da Regaleira here for information on schedules, prices and maps. They even offer an interactive video within the "Regaleira virtual tour" that is worth seeing.
I hope you've enjoyed this bit of Regaleira. Leave me a comment about what you think of it! Did you like?Have you visited it?

Gostaram? Já visitaram?

Spring/Summer Collective Haul!!

Hello, hello my adorable little monkeys (that's what my mum calls my sis & I :p)
How i missed shopping and seeing those front windows!
So here they are some of the things i've collected /bought over the last 3-4 weeks, all spring/summer stuff which is awfully odd since it's raining outside as of now and last night it even rained some hail.
But i can't find it in me to care, i hunger for some springer weather!!

Above (Left to right): a sleeveless and tight shirt from H&M , 14,95euros. A pink loose and long blouse from primark, 13 euros, to wear with some jeggins
Bottom (L-R): a grey and some what long shirt with some gorgeous details on the neck line and some cuts in the arm area,16,95euros. These one looked gorgeous when i tried it on. A light blue also with cuts on the arms, 9,95euros. Both are from New Yorker.
(L-R): A shirt with mixed colours and mixed cuts, a sleeve longer than the other, super modern shirt and it was 17,95 euros from Zara. The orange shirt with also some longer sleeves kinda flowy, it gives a romantic look when u wear it, was 9,95 euros also from New Yorker.

Look at my new love! A pair of deep blue wedges with some delicate detail near the heel! They are a closed wedges 'cus i bought them with the intention of wearing them to Lisbon trough the metro and trains, and getting dust on my foots isn't exactly my fetish XD
Comfy, wedged heel even though they're quite high but with a nice platform and they were 29,95 euros at Calçado Guimarães!
Oh yeah!
I've taken so many photos of them it is embarrassing!I was like oh gosh u are so gorgeous you're gonna me look taller, i'm gonna wear u everywhere even my sis gave me that look "Have u gone mad for good?!" and she's used to my "taking photos of food at restaurants!"

That was it!
Happy Weekend dears!

A Tumultuous Week

Oh boy what a week! Tough and never ending! The last week before easter-break, finishing the lass classes, the last works, day-dreaming of being able to sleep pass 6h30, counting those lazy seconds, various stressful situations that i'll be telling you on next, but i still managed to find some time to actually do a little shopping & see the new collection that has reached the shop's front windows, so a collective haul post is definitely on the way!
And today i went jogging to the beach, again.

Even though it wasn't one of those bright days, it still was warm enough to make the jogging awesome
Anyway i wanted to wish u all a great Easter, and if u're in holidays rest, enjoy and possibly study:P
See u bloggers!

Ericeira and Seafood

Hi there my dears!!
How have u been? I'm back at uni once again, which means less time to my guilty pleasures, to blog like there's no tomorrow but i'll keep making my apperance whenever i can.
Anyhow, after that yummy birthday cake we obliviously had to go out to celebrate my dad's 51st anniversary. Oh well who am i kidding? B-days are just an excuse to go eat out at our favourites (and not so cheap:/) places!! We were so excited to go back to one of our fav restaurants "Viveiros do Atlântico" in Ericeira.
Ericeira or a.k.a the mecca for surf in Europe is basically a fisherman's village, a center of commerce and seafood gastronomy it goes way back from the 12th century! It's so different, so rustic, so charming, i love that smell of the sea filling  the air...
It has famous surf beaches, and also if you prefer like me, miles of pure oasis sand and clear, rich mineral water!

Anyway the restaurant we went to, "Viveiros do Atlântico" , has been one of our longest fav, although we haven't been there for 3 years. Still the service is amazing and they offer a huge variety of dishes mainly seafood. When we got there it was full! We had to give our names, but it was still pretty quick and the food yummy!! But the price for that particular dish i'm showing in the pict OMG it's outrageous expensive even though it has pretty much single seafood possible, rare or not. It was amazing nonetheless, worth the experience and came on when are we coming back, probably not for another 3 years.

Some tourist pict we took while in Ericeira. It was such a bright day!

I hope u've enjoyed my post of today, and i wish u all a great week!!!

Chinese Food!!

Hello bloggers!! How have u been? For the ones still having exams good luck!
Thankfully I'm done with mine. Thank u god, cus i couldn't take it any longer :p
Either way yesterday after another bloody, life sucking exam we all went out for lunch at a local Chinese Food. Just to pump in our boost and mode, cus u know there's nothing better to recharge our batteries than some good reassuring and tasty food!
We ordered 3 different dishes all with bambu and gambas obliviously!:P

These one had caju (cashew)!

Just yummy!! Just looking i wanna eat bambu again!

And then dessert

Fried ice Cream. Hot outside and cold on the inside, devilish yummy & a caloric bomb.

That's why i love Chinese food! Good week folks. I can barely believe i don't have to study like crazy these week, yupiii :D

Happy Sunday everyone!!
How have u been?
I'm still in the middle of my exams, 5 more to go, but i'm positive, there used to be 7:p
I'm sure it will be worth the non-social life, the lack of patience and inspiration and the overload of stress, i'm sure it will be worth it, cus i intend having 15 days off!
These is a quick post, just to show where i went jogging today. There's nothing better to improve our mode than the warm rays of the sun, a luxurious walk by the beach and a joyful lunch with family!
