'Cus I'm still thinking about her.

Regardless of the torrid heat that forced me to bathe three times a day and the amount of endless people, I freaking loved it.
Porque ainda hoje não consigo deixar de pensar nela.

 Independentemente do calor tórrido que me obrigava a tomar banho 3 vezes por dia, do destilar continuo, da quantidade de gente sem fim, adorei.

Hello people! I hope this week has been good. Without much stuck up people I hope: P
My 1st day of the trip to Venice started well, but as soon as we checked in I became stressed, because apparently it had been sold more tickets than the existing seats on the plane. Result, our seats were on hold, standby. An unacceptable situation that shows a lack of consideration and professionalism. 
I was begining to think that all the effort I made in order to have 5 days off of work (not holiday but days off, imagine the amount of crazy hours I've had to do) had been in vain. But fortunatly we did manage to embark as planned.
Tip: always arrive two hours before, it was what saved us.

We arrived at Marco Polo airport just before 13h, and as we left the plane, we were welcomed by a tremendous heat! 
We reached Venice throught the water-bus, which took about 1h30 to reach the St.Mark's Square (blue line). I advise you to get water-bus (official website) if the group has less than 4 people, if you're 4 or more, I advise taking the taxi instead. Much faster and comfortable, and the difference is less than 20-30 euros. If you can email the hotel you're staying at and schedule. They might get you a discount and you're off set with the 2 way trip. And believe me it's well worth it, I felt like a diva getting inside that boat!

O 1º dia da viagem a Veneza começou bem, mas assim que fizemos o check-in fiquei logo stressada, porque pelos vistos tinham sido vendidos mais bilhetes do que lugares existentes no avião. Resultado, os nossos lugares estavam como standby. 
Uma situação inaceitável que demonstra uma falta de consideração e profissionalismo estonteante.
Já estava a ver que todo o esforço feito para juntar 5 dias (não de férias, mas de folgas, imaginem as horas loucas que andei a fazer) tinha sido em vão. Mas lá conseguimos embarcar como previsto.
Tip: cheguem sempre 2 horas antes, foi o que nos valeu.

Chegámos ao aeroporto de Marco Polo um pouco antes das 13h, e assim que saímos do avião, fomos brindados por um calor imenso! (A coisa prometia)
Até Veneza fomos de water-bus, que demorou cerca de 1h30 até à praça de São Marcos (linha azul). Eu aconselho a ir de water-bus (site oficial) se forem menos que 4 pessoas, se forem 4 ou mais, aconselho o táxi. Bem mais rápido e confortável, e a diferença é pouca, menos de 20-30 euros. Se puderem perguntem e agendem com o hotel em que vão ficar pode ser que consigam um desconto e ficam logo com a ida e volta. E acreditem que vale a pena, senti-me uma diva ao entrar para o barco!


For the day we arrived we didn't schedule anything, because there could be delays with the plane and honestly we arrived jaded and the torrid heat caught us off guard. But if you have the strength, the city of Verona is just 1 hour away by train  ;)
But we still went exploring. We reached the St.Mark's Square and from there we wandered through the streets and many bridges of the beautiful city, watching the shops and artists. We still mange to drink a good coffee and everything. And of course eat some gelato.

Para o dia em que chegámos não marcámos nada, até porque podia haver atrasos com o avião e sinceramente chegámos estafados e o calor tórrido apanho-nos desprevenidos. Mas se tiverem forças, a cidade de Verona fica a 1h de comboio de Veneza ;)
Mas não deixámos de ir explorar. Fomos logo ter à praça de São Marcos e daí vagueamos pelas ruas e pontes da bela cidade, observando as lojas e os artistas. Ainda conseguimos beber um bom café e tudo. E claro gelato. 

 The city is truly magical and unique. I want to live there !!

Practical issues:
We booked the plane online through the edreams site but the hotel Ca 'dei Conti (official site) we ended up booking it at a local agency called Abreu as well as the excursions. All of it booked six months before and it still wasn't cheap.
I just want to draw attention to the fact that Venice is an expensive city. An expresso (our regular coffee) are 2 euros at best, and meals were around 7 euros just for a pizza or pasta and outside of the central zone. If you sit for example on one of the oldest pastry shops in Venice (and Europe) at St. Mark's Square, you'll pay an extra fee for the place and service. No wonder that a normal coffee can cost up to 30 euros on one of those beautiful and old cafes. But please don't forget to go and take a look, they usually have live music at night :)
And don't forget that in Italy, as well as in other European countries, tourists pay a tourist tax, usually on the day of check-out, which is around 4 euros / person / day.

A cidade é deveras mágica e totalmente única. Quero ir morar para lá!!
Questões Práticas:
Fizemos a marcação do avião online através do site edreams mas o hotel Ca' Dei Conti (site) acabámos por marcar na agência Abreu tal como as visitas guiadas.Tudo 6 meses antes e mesmo assim não foi barato. Quero só alertar para o facto de Veneza ser uma cidade cara.  
Café expresso (o nosso café normal) são 2 euros na melhor das hipóteses, e as refeições andaram à volta dos 7 euros só por uma pizza ou uma massa e isto fora da zona central. Se se sentarem por exemplo numa das mais antigas pastelarias de Veneza (e da Europa) na Praça de São Marcos, paga-se uma taxa extra pelo sitio e pelo serviço. Não é de espantar que um café normal possa custar até 30 euros num desses cafés lindíssimos e antigos. Mas não deixem de ir dar uma vista de olhos, eles costumam ter musica ao vivo à noite ;) 
E não se esqueçam que em Itália e noutros países europeus paga-se um taxa turística, normalmente no dia do check-out, que ronda os 4 euros/pessoa/dia.

At long last I've been to Venice if only for 4 (intense) days.

Well worth those (extra) work days. It was always go-go-go, super hot, I must have taken 2-3 baths a day, ate a bunch of ice creams, ate a lot of past as well and had a blast!! Love it. One of those must visit places before you die. So special!
I hope you guys get to enjoy the next photos and that they keep you interested for the next, more detailed, post about my trip to the gorgeous Venice. Enjoy the glimpse ;)

Finalmente fui a Veneza embora tenha sido por apenas 4 (intensos) dias.

Valeu bem a pena os dias de trabalho (extra). Foi sempre go-go-go, muito calor, eu devo ter tomado 2-3 banhos por dia, comi um monte de gelados e um monte de massa e diverti-me tanto !! Adorei. Um dos lugares a visitar antes de morrer. Tão especial!
Espero que desfrutem das próximas fotos e que consigam manter-vos interessados para os próximos post, mais detalhados, sobre a minha viagem à bela Veneza. Aproveitem o vislumbre;)

Hi gorgeous! Ready for the last post about my trip to Rome? Florence it is. Our last full on Rome. I've been so keen on going there. How could I not, when it's the birth place of famous people like Galileu Galilei, Michelangelo, Donatello, Dante. The place breathes art.

Olá jeitosas! Preparadas para o último post sobre a minha viagem a Roma?Florença que seja. O nosso último dia por inteiro em Itália. Eu fiz tanta questão em lá ir. E como não poderia? A cidade é o local de nascimento de famosos artistas como Galileu Galilei, Michelangelo, Donatello, Dante. Toda a cidade respira arte.

On the next day we were schedule to catch the plane in the afternoon, so in the morning we HAD FUN!
We did a little shopping in la Via del Corso, we went back to the Fontana di Trevi (we had to, it's beautiful)
had a couple more of ice-cream, and said not goodbye but a see you later Rome!

No dia seguinte como o nosso avião estava marcada para a tarde, de manhã aproveitámos bem e divertimo-nos! Andámos a ver lojas na Via del Corso, regressámos à Fontava di Trevi (o sitio é mais que lindo) comemos mais umas bolas de gelado e dissemos não adeus, mas um até breve Roma!





To finish this last post about Rome, here's the GOOD food we had the fortune of eating (Via Piave, I don't remember the name though :s )

Delizia al limone, supre fresh and light. Intense limon flavor but still sweet.
Delizia al limone, bastante fresquinho e leve. Com um intenso sabor a limão, mas doce.
