Just a little bit

Some new pictures from my one day get away to the so lovely Ericeira! <3
No matter How windy it is I still freaking love to seat outside savoring the salty ocean smell.
So ridiculous charming as I've show before here and here

I want what I won't have.  I want a dream, I want what I once thought and I'm full aware now that it was never the reality. Comfortable, cozy, warm, challenging, honest and peaceful. I'm chasing a dream. But. Just a little bit, a little bit is all I'm asking for.

Oh well what an odd day for me.

Oh my love

I love this place, Ericeira. I've post about it three times already, herehere and here. But then again I love the ocean. I love everything about it. Its cold temperature during the winter, its salty smell, its strengthen, its colors, the memories it reminds me, the promise of discovery, the unknown, all the secrets and life it contains
I love Ericeira, so much. I wish I lived there and I instantly though of this poem of Fernando Pessoa. And I believe it fits perfectly, don't you?

I am so full of feelings
I can easily believe
I must be sentimental.
But when I mull this over,
I see it's all in thought,
I felt nothing whatever.

All of us alive spend
One life living it,
Another, thinking it,
And the only life we have
Is split between
The true one and the false.

 But which is true
And which is false
No one can explain.
And as we go on living,
The life we spend's the one
That's doomed to thinking.

Have a good weekend!

Seafood

Hello pretty ladies!
So another food post how awesome! It's the part 2 of my dad's birthday. After we visited the chocolate festival in Óbidos in the morning, around 12h30pm we headed back to Ericeira to have lunch at the restaurant Viveiros do Atlântico, an old favorite. We've been there (not quite) exactly the same day as last year for the same motive, my dad's bday. Thankfully it didn't take 5 years to go back.
It didn't disappoint. The quality and the service were amazing, very quick and friendly. The place was packed, we arrived close to 13h40 and we still had to wait 10 minutes for a table.
We choose a more light wallet dish, it had a number and a name but I frankly don't remember. It had shrimp, lobster, crab and crab stuffing, sea snails, sea whelks, clams and "percebes" for the price of 97,50€. It didn't have seafood rice we had to order it separately which was cheaper than getting all together (by 15€).

The seafood rice consisted of rice, tiny shrimps, salsa, clams...It's really good. If not done correctly is tasteless and liquid but not this one. It's was extremely well done. Served in a hand painted pottery. It was 6.50€  (I was expecting it to be more).

How do you get through the hard shell of both the lobsters and the crab? You smash it! With a hammer and a double fork tool. It's an adventurous and stress relieve meal and ...possibly dangerous as well, or just messy ahahah

If you happen to want another crab filling, the Recheio de Sapateira, it's 9,50€. But if you want the all crab that's when it's those 22,50€.
The desserts were generally around 2,85€, the drinks each were 1,40€. The one thing I though had a high price was the coffee at 1€ each.
We left the restaurant feeling happy and full, with a 10% discount for the next time. I highly recommend this place!

And to finish off in a brilliant way a most wonderful day, we went to the beach, to enjoy the warm sun. And since it was low tide you could see the entire coast.
Happy weekend!

A little nook in Ericeira

Hi there!
I gotta tell you I didn't miss exams :/ I've had enough although I'm already on the last ones, the final sprint oh lord give me patience, strength and while you are it give me a super brain!
Today I went for the flowers exam, I can't stand more flowers, plants, sticks whatever it may be....I can't even enjoy or look towards a cup of coffee / tea the same all because of this class. So yeah imagine my face when just before getting in that class my name wasn't on the list. I almost died! And almost killed the lady responsible for it. Let's wait and see the result.
Last friday I went for a walk at Ericeira or a.k.a the mecca for surf just to relax, have a nice break, chill out, you know to try to be a social person again. 'Cus sometimes you need to do a break, studying nonstop doesn't guarantee you good grades or sustenance you'll pass. So getting out of the house is a good thing;)

While doing my walk, already on my way home I saw, from the rode, a small gandering of well taken care of, characteristics houses pretty much built on the sand so I had to get closer didn't I?

I was really amazed by this little nook.
Happy week people!
And for those doing exams, the best of Luck!

Ericeira, Once again

Only these time i bring photos from the centre of Ericeira, the local merchants, those light coloured houses a necessity to fight off the hot summer days, those bumpy sidewalks, the hand-painted titles.

But sadly i can't show you the best.
The sounds of relaxed and lazy laughs, the mouth-watering smell of grilled fish and the smell of bread just out off the oven, the warm heat of the summer sun hitting my face, the different languages emphasising Ericeira's charms, the rich salty smell of the ocean brought the warm wind swinging my hair.

It's beautiful.
But as my favourite writer once wrote :" To define the beautiful is to misunderstand it" therefore i'll leave you the photos to decide for yourselves.

Hope u've liked the photos. I'm so partial when it comes to the sea.XD
Have a rest of an awesome weekend and a good week!

Ericeira and Seafood

Hi there my dears!!
How have u been? I'm back at uni once again, which means less time to my guilty pleasures, to blog like there's no tomorrow but i'll keep making my apperance whenever i can.
Anyhow, after that yummy birthday cake we obliviously had to go out to celebrate my dad's 51st anniversary. Oh well who am i kidding? B-days are just an excuse to go eat out at our favourites (and not so cheap:/) places!! We were so excited to go back to one of our fav restaurants "Viveiros do Atlântico" in Ericeira.
Ericeira or a.k.a the mecca for surf in Europe is basically a fisherman's village, a center of commerce and seafood gastronomy it goes way back from the 12th century! It's so different, so rustic, so charming, i love that smell of the sea filling  the air...
It has famous surf beaches, and also if you prefer like me, miles of pure oasis sand and clear, rich mineral water!

Anyway the restaurant we went to, "Viveiros do Atlântico" , has been one of our longest fav, although we haven't been there for 3 years. Still the service is amazing and they offer a huge variety of dishes mainly seafood. When we got there it was full! We had to give our names, but it was still pretty quick and the food yummy!! But the price for that particular dish i'm showing in the pict OMG it's outrageous expensive even though it has pretty much single seafood possible, rare or not. It was amazing nonetheless, worth the experience and came on when are we coming back, probably not for another 3 years.

Some tourist pict we took while in Ericeira. It was such a bright day!

I hope u've enjoyed my post of today, and i wish u all a great week!!!
