Jane Austen I need you!

   This week has been hard. The heat, adjusting to new routines, new people, new adversities... And this heat i can't take it anymore is starting to not let me sleep at night so i'll get headache all day long.And i wanna wear my fall clothes :P and not spend my entire day sweating like a pig yuck!
   But this morning was a breath of fresh as it was a slap in the face. The smiles, sincere thanks and affection of the ones i helped during the volunteer and the bad manners, rudeness and discussions normal to the emergency services i would say, but it's exausting as it is fulfilling :D I love it! Oh and today i got to practice a litle bit of my english since some turists showed up!No major injuries rest assured!They were so nice and funny!:D
   Either way when i got home i was in a serious need of energy & peace injection if that even makes sense, so I turned to my favorite english author Jane Austen and her Pride & Prejudice



   Because i love: the story, the love , the happy ending, the caracter's sweetness, the respectul and rightful manners, the romantic writing and because there's something peaceful yet inspiring about love storys specially these one by Jane Austen. 



  And what better way to read a book if not with a cup of tea or even coffee?

That was exactly my face during the scary incident today! Or close to it....


Here's what happened:

While I was returning home in my car after another busy and hot day out of nowhere i see rolling towards me the cover protection of the wheel from some random car in the middle of the street!!That's just not normal...at all!!
Now what can we do in cases like this?I slowed down and the cover protection hit by own front heel no harm done though (thank god!) but the thing continued on rolling down the street!And i was left with my adrenalin pumping high on my veins and an expression of incredulity on my face.

I guess there's always a first time for everything!:O

OOTD - The Pinky Shirt

    The sun has been joking around with us!! During summer was a no show, but now in the last week of september we have 28º C!!It was suppose to be 20ºc at the very most so that we wouldn't feel bad returning to the routine, but oh no now that i can't enjoy the weather and have to be all day long in rooms and trains he's here!! I'm mad at him!why does he have to be so mean?! :s
    Well either way i felt like doing an OOTD!


Yes i know i said it was super hot, but early in the morning was quite chilly actually! And since i'm a pharmacy college student i know how pills are made and the long-term consequences it has to our bodies so i believe its "better to prevent than to be sorry later" so i prefer wearing jackets to taking aspirins and ibuprofens! :p

This is why i like doing OOTD, i have so much fun, i laugh and laugh and keep on laughing about my goofy faces, my awkardness & pretty much eveything!

Yes i do believe this works. The Minimalist formula gives and excellent tolerance and the cream is easy to apply doesn't get sticky or oily and it's quickly absorved by the skin.   
 I've already try it on some of my cuts and  pimples already in the healing process and the results were pretty good. You have to be realistic and understand that it doesn't heel in a couple of hours but in a couple of days for sure, depending of the wound.   
Nevertheless since it has a an anti-bacterial agent it prevents infections. Which is awesome specially for the kids, and for those people who suffer from acne or pimples. Since it has both antibacterial agents and healing compounds. (acne is mainly caused by bacteria)
It really provides instant coolness so the less it stings the less you'll scratch and the faster it'll heal!
Small package so it's easy to carry it around enabling the use as often as necessary.


Concluindo:

Experimentem, a sério. Eu não acreditava que funciona-se mas bolas funciona muito bem.
Apliquem no mínimo 2 vezes ao dia, ou então perguntem ao dermatologista se é o mais apropriado para o vosso caso.
Sim, para todos os efeitos creio que o balsamo funciona. A formula minimalista confere uma excelente tolerância, não fica pegajoso ou oleoso, e é rapidamente absorvido pela pele.
Já experimentei em alguns dos meus cortes e em borbulhas já no processo de cicatrização e fiquei surpreendida pela positiva Mas é preciso ser realista este creme não vai cicatrizar em duas horas, mas em dois dias digo que sim, mas claro depende da extensão/tipo de lesão.
No entanto como contém compostos antibacterianos previne o aparecimento de infecções. Ajuda na cicatrização de borbulhas do acne tanto pelo facto de possuir antibacterianos (a acne é causada por  bactéria) como ajuda na regeneração da pele danificada. 
Acalma mesmo a pele e se arder /picar menos, menos se coça logo mais rápida se dá à cicatrização.
   Ao contrário do halibut é menos espesso e menos oclusivo, mas se compararmos com  o bepanthene o cicaplast b5 é menos fluido. No entanto é rapidamente absorvido, hidrata a pele, não mancha e acelera mesmo a regeneração da pele. As mamãs que procuram variar/experimentar um creme para o rabinho dos seus bébés este é um boa opção. O preço ronda os 8 euros (40ml) no fórum sintra, 2 euros a mais que o halibut ou bepanthene, mas pelo factor cicatrizante eu considero que vale bem a pena. A alternativa que me lembro assim à primeira seria o mitosyl, mas o odor não me seduz, faz-me lembrar um pouco a peixe, sem querer ofender.
   Embalagem pequena, pode ser transportada e utilizada facilmente para todo o lado optimizando os resultados.

Aleluia!!


Ah pois é, finalmente encontrei à venda cornetos de pistachio ( e chocolate) a um preço bastante acessível no intermarché, pois claro. Cada caixa destes maravilhosos cornetos traz 6 delicias ao preço de 1,94 euro por embalagem :O É de ficar com os olhos em bico não é verdade? São bons, com um sabor até bastante forte de pistachio, quem gosta deste tipo de sabor não pode deixar de experimentar!


E só pelo prazer de espicaçar....:D

OOTD - Neutral Tones!

      Yeah, it's the 3rd week of September and it's HOT!!Just to think that in certain days of the last month, August, I had to wrap myself in my towel because it was too damn cold on the beach (sighs) And now that I gotta return to college and use the trains, the metro, the bus it's freaking hot!Just today were 29ºC!Don't get me wrong i love the summer and all but it's just a suffering to go back and forward with this heat!


    So this is my choice for these current busy & hot days. The Sleeveless Nude t-shirt from Stradivarius, really light and fresh. The white leggings from Zara because i don't like to go to college and use the public transports with a skirt is guaranteed that I will have to run at some point during the day AH! The neutral heels from Calçado Guimarães but i have inside that lovely leather shoulderbag a pair of flats rest assured!

Desde que começaram a nascer os meus dentes do ciso que tenho andado muito mais preocupada com a minha saúde oral. Ok quem quero enganar estou preocupada e tenho medo que não haja espaço suficiente para eles nascerem e ter que fazer uma "pequena" cirurgia para os remover.Ai ai ai!
Por isso desde Julho que ando a "apalpar" e a fazer caretas estranhas ao espelho para ver como os malditos andam e a tomar conta dos outros porque sou uma esponja a beber café, sou gulosa tudo aquilo que facilita o aparecimento de cáries!
Por isso estava bastante receptiva quando vi estas 4 pequenas escovas à venda no pingo doce a 1,99 euro e pensei hum "I'll give it a shot" e trouxe o de Menta Suave.


Embalagem atractiva, cada escova encontra-se individualmente selada sendo higiénico e sempre pronto a utilizar.
Segundo o website do produto, cada escova tem 9 cms logo é bastante útil "on the go" e pode ser guardada na mala ou até no bolso.

Basicamente trata-se de uma mini escova com duas pontas de utilização:
  • Parte da escova contém já a pasta de dentes embutida no interior;
  • Parte pontiaguada a lembrar palito para alcançar entre os dentes.     

 Basically it's a mini tooth brush with 2 "business" ends:
  • Brush has a small flavour bead embeded in the middle;
  • Pontie end for reaching in between your toofs.                 

    O que achei:
    • O produto não substitui de maneira alguma a tradicional escova de dentes, a pasta de dentes, o escovilhão ou fio dental ou até o elixir antiséptico, mas para situações únicas sem que não se tem acesso água, quando se almoça fora e não se vem logo p'ra casa ou se tem 30 min de almoço é excelente;
    • Deixa de facto uma sensação de limpeza e frescura na boca;
    • O tamanho pode ser um problema já que para alcançar os dentes de trás foi preciso quase enviar a mão na minha boca;
    • Demorou cerca de 20s para a "pérola" se dissolver;
    • Eu pessoalmente não senti Mas a escova pode ser um pouco agressiva para as gengivas ou até para os dentes mais sensiveis;
    • Pode variar de pessoa para pessoa mas pode ser necessária alguma pressão para abrir a "peróla" or bastante saliva para a fazer dissolver-se ou até ambos.

    My thoughts:
    •  The Wisp is not in any way a replace of the traditional toothbrush,the toothpaste, the floss or elixir but for unique situations when you may not have access to water or the sink, or if you have 30 min lunch is excellent; 
    • The size may be problematic it may not reach the back teeth without putting your hand inside the mouth;
    • I personally didn't feel it but the brush can be a little aggressive to the gums or even to sensitive teeth;
    • It took nearly 20s to dissolve the "pearl";
    • For some people it might be require a lot of pressure to break open the flavour or a lot of saliva to dissolve or even both;
    • It gives my mouth a sense of cleanliness and freshness.


    Overall:
    Vou manter sempre comigo um conjunto desta escovas já que a partir de agora durante a semana só terei acesso a casa-de-banhos públicas e ficar a escovar dentes lá é no mínimo insólito.


    I will always keep with me a set of brushes as from now on during the week i'll only have access to public bathrooms and  honestly to brush teeth there is at least unusual and creepy.

    Dessert of the Day - Rice Pudding!! (Arroz Doce à Portuguesa)

        Another one of my delicious family recipes!! In Portugal it's called Arroz Doce and it's, generally, made of rice, sugar, milk, eggs, cinnamon and lemon peel and it's oh so good!!

      What u're gonna need is:

    -> 3 eggs yolks                                           ->Cinnamon and cinnamon sticks         ->2 pans                      
    -> 150 grams of Sugar                                ->125g of Rice                                    ->1 large bowl
    -> 1 lemon                                                  ->7,5 dl of Milk                                   ->1 wooden spoon
    ->Water                                                      ->Salt

    1st Step:


    Lead to heat a pot with water, seasoned with salt. When the water starts boiling add the rice and let it cook for about 2 minutes. At the same time bring the milk to boil with the lemon peel and 2 open up cinnamon stick.
    2nd Step:

    Add the egg yolks with 150 grams of sugar and with the wooden spoon stir until a homogeneous mixture of yellowish colour.

    3rd Step:



    Drain the rice well and soak it in milk to a boil. Let it cook uncovered over low heat.

    4th Step:


    On low heat, add the yolk mixture with the sugar and stir it continuously without letting it boil for a few minutes.

    5th Step:


    Pour the rice on serving plates and garnish with cinnamon.


    Et Voilá!!




      I advice you to wait a couple of hours before eating it, let it cold down a bit or otherwise you'll get a stomach ache and will have to go running to the bathroom...juts saying!So try not to eat while it's hot.

      Usually this is a dessert of the Christmas season ... but we are kinda greedy so we thought what the hell i really wanna do it and eat it obviously!


      Oh and just so you know if you're allergic to milk you can always use soy milk, there's no problem. It can be less sweet than normally but for my sister and I, we're allergic to milk, we found that we prefer the soy milk to the regular one it's less cloying and sweet.

    Festas do Mar em Cascais de 2011- As fotos

    As Festas do Mar tiveram lugar na Baía de Cascais, Largo Cidade Vitória e Jardim Visconde da Luz entre os dias 19 e 28 de Agosto
       Bem sei que as festas do Mar já acabaram e há muito, mas a verdade é que me esqueci de publicar as fotos que tirei e achei que mais vale tarde que nunca e aqui vão elas.

       The "Festas do Mar" (Festivities of the Sea) took place in Cascais Bay, Victoria Square and Garden City Visconde da Luz between 19 and 28 August. 
        I know it was a long ago, but the truth is that I forgot to post the photos I took and thought well better late than never and so here they are.





















       Peço desculpa pela má qualidade das fotos. A minha câmara não é nem de longe nem de perto profissional, já tem uns bons aninhos mas penso que até se safou bastante bem ainda p'ra mais de noite e a tirar fotos de fogo de artificio o quão doidinha sou eu?!:D
       Bem eu gostei das festas do mar, ainda p'ra mais no ultimo dia o tempo estava muito agradável, sem vento e claro as personalidades e as canções reproduzidas a recordar velhos tempos foram a cereja no topo do bolo. Uma experiência a repetir.

       Apologies for the poor quality photos. My camera is far away from being a professional one, it's lived enough but i believe i managed to pull it off especially at night and trying to take photos of the fireworks.
       Well i gotta say i enjoyed the festivities particularly the last day when the weather was clear very pleasant with no wind at all and the songs recalling the old days were the icing on the cake. An experience to repeat.
