Barcelona,

Barcelona # Day 1 - Bairri Gótic and Palau de La Música Catalana

Oh yes, I know, I know. Being away doesn't begin to describe how long I've been away from the blog world. What can I say? The last year at college is a b****: internships and internships reports (plus crazy boss)... I can barely wait until it's all over!
Still there's some time available to visit Barcelona!
A city that I confess wasn't in my list "of cities to visit" but it end up being surprisingly positive, LOVED it.
Full of life, history, culture, friendly people, good weather, easy to move around and blessed with spectacular weather, no wind only sun and heat.

Sim, eu sei.

Check in done, time to explore Bairri Gótic which was only 5 minutes from our hotel
Interestingly we arrived at Diumenge the Rams, Palm Sunday, before Easter, so the streets were flooded with people carrying their respective branch, and not just some ordinary branches! Entitled to sweet gums and everything!

While walking around, getting familiar with the city, around the corner of Via Laietana we saw a gorgeous building with a very modernist syle and later found it was a concert hall!
And that was when we decided we had to see a concert! And we did, that same night we went back to see an opera and flamenco mix. Just amazing! A most do experience when in Barcelona!

Palau de La Música Catalana built in 1908 is one of the most singular concert halls in the world.
It has sculptures, ceramic mosaics, glass...the detail it's beyond this world!
The amazing view from our hotel room! Weren't we lucky?!
A vista incrivel do nosso quarto de hotel!Tivemos sorte!

It's so complex with such boundless fantasy for decoration. There's a large inverted dome for a skylight entirely made of stained-glass, right in the middle of  the ceiling, even the lampshades of the lamps seem like flowers opening up.
It's so impressive. The entire ornamentation in the hall is a homepage to nature. Gorgeous, gorgeous!

Lindo, lindo!

As amazing as it may be on the outside, on the inside it blows you away!
A perfect end for the first day hein?
