Bombarral,

Buddha Eden - Quinta dos Loridos

The garden is a tribute to the Giant Buddhas of Bamyan, center of Afghanistan, destroyed in 2001, by the fundamentalist Taliban government (with television broadcast and all).
In an area of 35 hectares you can find Pagodas, Buddhas and 700 terracotta statues: original copies originated from China and hand painted (the torture it must have been to pass through Customs gosh!).
There is also a train that does a small part of the route. While offering some information and a more comfortable visit is preferable to walk calmly, savoring the fresh air, following our instincts and discover such a beautiful place!

The only thing missing is more information about the sculptures. A sign with the contextualization or even a brochure with a map of the garden and its major attractions. Who knows maybe a guided tour.
Interestingly the largest oriental garden in Europe is part of the historical legacy of Bacalhôa Wines of Portugal therefore it's not surprising that it's considered to be wine tourism. For more information on times and prices visit the official site here
Lots to see and discover. It is indeed a very charming, unique and peaceful location. The reality exceeded expectations! Loved it! I highly recommend!
Hope you've enjoyed this post. Leave a comment on what you think about it!

A realidade superou a expectativa!! Adorei! Recomendo vivamente!
