Itália,
I went to Rome! Yes indeed!
It was a dream come true, a very old one, since I devoured the books here at home about Ancient Rome that I dreamed of going there. A trip scheduled at the last minute with only 10 days in advance and up until the moment I had the tickets in my hand I didn't believe I was actually going!
But the journey began in a not so happy mode. There we were all happy to catch the plane at 6:30 am after sleeping (or not) 3 hours and just when we were about to get in the plane "there was a leak in the engine," said the captain! And off we went running to the stand of the company to arrange flights. Result: the family got separated 2 for each side and I ended up stopping at Venice at 13h10! but on the other hand I flew first class!
The difference is really the food see for yourselves! But does it justifies the price? Yes, they were very attentive, gave magazines, appetizers, we got to choose our lunch, drinks including champagne, they gave one wet wipe for us to freshen up (I don't know what I was supposed to do with it XD) ... but what I really want is to go at the window the rest is history! Venice seen from above is absolutely beautiful, seems out of a movie! Doesn't seem real, it's literally a small island surrounded by water, full of canals and boats!
So much stress on that day, Jesus!
Do we have tickets for today? But we already have a tour scheduled for tomorrow and now what ? Are we really flying? Will this plane take off or have a leaking engine as well? A day to forget!
But we made it to the Fiumicino airport in Rome past 20h and then to the Gambrinus Hotel in Via Piave. We did the check-in, dropped our bags and went out to eat. Such a coincidence there was a handy and nice looking restaurant right in front of our hotel!
They were all very friendly! It gave me the feeling they like to work there and this could be seen in the way they spoke and were patient with us! We asked for a traditional dish and obtained the one seen on the picture above.
Caldo, molto caldo but so good! Italians love their spices no doubt! To eat the pasta I had to drink 1L of water, but LOVED it! The price is around 7-9 euros per dish but if you take home is about 2 euros cheaper. Needless to say that during the 4 days we were there we went back to the restaurant right?
And for now I leave you with a glimpse of the next posts. Oh how I would like to go back :)
Tenho uma surpresa...
Atravessar os Alpes Crossing the Alps |
Fui a Roma! Sim!!!
Tanto stress naquele dia, Jasus!

Fizémos check-in, largámos as malas e fomos comer fora.
