Who doesn't like visiting Oceanariums? I sure do!

Lisbon Oceanarium is part of a legacy left by Expo 98 (an international exhibition held in 1998 which brought over 11 million visitors). It reproduces life of 4 distinct environments: the Temperate Pacific, the North Atlantic, the Antarctic and the Tropical Indian.

There's a small forest whose humidity and heat are perfect for tropical birds. And also pools with the most colorful fish, the funniest names and odd shapes, swimming around happily in front of you as if they could be reached not only by your eyes but also your hands. But the main attraction are the Sea-otters, so cute resembling children playing delighted with the visitor's attention.

All of this wrapped in a rich audible atmosphere, with big windows & sounds taken from each habitat and gently played there, so as to transport you directly into the water world.

Quem não gosta de visitar o oceanário? Eu sei que sim!

Oceanário de Lisboa é parte de um legado deixado pela Expo 98 (exposição internacional realizada em 1998, que trouxe mais de 11 milhões de visitantes). É reproduzida a vida de 4 ambientes distintos: o Pacífico temperado, o Atlântico Norte, o Antárctico e a Índico Tropical. 

Há uma pequena floresta, cuja humidade e calor são perfeitos para as aves tropicais. E também piscinas com peixes coloridos, nomes engraçados e formas estranhas, nadando alegremente à nossa como se pudessem ser alcançados não só pelos olhos, como também pelas mãos. Mas a principal atracção são as lontras, tão simpáticas assemelhando-se a crianças brincando satisfeitas com toda a atenção dos visitantes. 

Tudo envolvido numa atmosfera audível rica, com grandes janelas e sons de cada habitat, de forma a transportar-nos directamente para o mundo aquático.

But my favorites have to be the medusas, tropical fishes and sea-horses. Something about those vibrant colors, gentle movement or the small size that got me mesmerized like a kid in a candy store. Just can't step away from those windows ;p

Mas os meus favoritos são sem dúvida as medusas, os peixes tropicais e os cavalos-marinhos. Algo sobre as cores vibrantes, movimentos suaves ou o tamanho pequeno que me deixa hipnotizada como uma criança numa loja de doces. Não consigo afastar-se das janelas; p
