Lisboa
I know, I know the exhibition is over for almost a month now, but I've been cleaning my external drive and found the photos of it. For those who follow me on facebook already know that I went there on the day before going to Rome (Oh! how I miss it) and so I couldn't help but share it with you.
I ended up liking more than I thought I would! I confess that what motivated me the most to go was the place where the exhibition was held, the Palácio da Ajuda. A wonderful place with exuberant rooms, full of stories of political and historical importance!
I understood the message (there were available descriptions for both the works and the rooms, you just had to make the association) and really liked it. I thought it was well framed, each piece symbolized an idea / criticism. Adding the fact that they were built by Portuguese hands and Portuguese materials and beautifully so, it please gotta everyone, doesn't it?

Eu sei, eu sei a exposição da Joana já acabou faz quase um mês, mas andei a limpar o meu disco externo e encontrei as fotos da visita à exposição. Para quem me segue no facebook já sabem que eu fui na véspera de ir para Roma ( oh! saudades) e não podia deixar de vir aqui partilhá-las.
Acabei por gostar mais do que pensei que fosse gostar! Confesso que o que mais me motivou a ir foi mesmo o lugar aonde a exposição estava, o Palácio da Ajuda. Um sitio maravilhoso, com salas exuberantes, cheias de histórias e importância politica e histórica!
Compreendi a mensagem (estavam disponíveis descrições das obras e das salas e depois era só fazer a associação) e gostei bastante. Achei que estava bem enquadrado, cada obra simbolizava uma ideia / critica. E o facto de serem construídas por mãos e materiais portugueses e com tanto primor, agrada a todos não é?

| The 1st room was pitch black but full of shiny flowers! A delight, my favorite of all. It appealed so much to the imagination, creativity and the gentler side of each person. We circled between the flowers all amazed. A 1ª sala estava escura, escura mas cheia de flores a reluzir! Foi um encanto, a minha preferida de todas. Apelava muito à imaginação, criatividade e o lado mais gentil de cada um. Nós circulávamos lá por entre elas todos maravilhados. |

| Room where they welcomed all the countries representatives , hence the ties and the wind. Should have been a swirl of suits and ties waiting to be received by the King. Sala aonde eram recebidos os representantes dos Países, daí as gravatas e o vento. Deveria ser um rodopio de fatos e gravatas à espera de serem recebidos pelo Rei. |

| Male Room where men amused themselves, played, smoked etc.. The chandelier is made of tampons. Sala Masculino aonde os homens se entretinham, jogavam, fumavam etc. O candelabro é feito de tampões. |

| Hall of departures and arrivals, hence it the traffic sign (kind off) pointing in different directions. Sala das partidas e chegadas, daí que tenha uma espécie de sinaleiro, a apontar em várias direcções. |

After leaving the Palace we were lucky enough to see the changing of the guard in Belém.
Good weekend, with all this rain it's just perfect for us to snuggle at home with a cup of hot chocolate!
Já depois de sairmos do Palácio podemos ver o render da Guarda em Belém.
Bom fim-de-semana, com esta chuva toda está mesmo perfeito para nos aconchegarmos em casa com uma chávena de chocolate quente!
